Approach to Therapy
I work within a collaborative, interpersonal, psychodynamic framework to help you understand the conscious and unconscious patterns throughout your life and how they may impact your current relationships and your relationship with me. I often suggest or use cognitive-behavioral techniques or exercises to address specific concerns in your life.

Benefits of Therapy
Individuals, couples, and families see numerous and varied benefits from psychotherapy.  A 1995 Consumer Reports article reported that 90% of therapy clients reported being better able to manage their lives after receiving therapy. People in my practice have reported improvements including: increased self-esteem, more self-confidence, better sleep, increased concentration, reductions in unhealthy behaviors, improved relationships, better communication, and expanded self-awareness and self-understanding. Additionally, many have learned improved communication skills, anger management techniques, relaxation methods, and positive self-talk.

First Session
Our first session will be an opportunity for us to explore the issues and concerns in your life, what factors are related to these concerns, and what you are hoping to get from therapy. This is also a time for you to decide if I am the right therapist for you to work with. If you would like more information about my policies, please see Policies and Procedures.
